After WDRC 2023 in Korea, Tristan (JuicyFlick) and myself, Jadon (FarmLife) decided it was our turn to have a go at designing a purebred race frame. The design criteria was simple. Light, strong, fast, and easy to build and repair.

We came up with what we believe to be a great method of locking the centre section of the frame, while keeping it strong and resistant to crashes, and also enabling true single screw arm replacements in the field. The frame is able to fit long slim ESC’s such as the Rush 60A mini and others, with 20mm deck height for those who want to squeeze HDzero into it, all while remaining under 45g!. This makes having a 5 inch racer sitting below the 250g mark with everything but a battery easily achievable.

Blackbox logs come out cleaner than ever and allow tuning to be pushed even further for a quad that’s as locked and responsive as they come, without your motors burning you upon landing. The bottom section of the frame being completely unobstructed allows for 25mm battery straps for those of you who want to make sure that battery stays attached no matter what happens.

No press nuts in the frame allows for fewer loose standoffs or bound up screws, aside from a huge weight saving. The frame is cut out of T700 carbon for the best blend of stiffness and durability. We’ve opted to supply the frame with stainless steel hardware, because rust is a thing, and it sucks stripping a countersunk screw that’s rusted out.

The frame weighs in at under 45g, 44.1g in this config to be exact (yes that’s with all hardware), and comes in under 50g with a TPU camera mount fitted. It will accommodate most (if not all) 20×20 ESCs, even longer ones. The frame has been designed around 5.1” props and the camera mount is designed for the Foxeer predator v5 Nano with a 1.7mm lens.
